Stars of the Stage and Screen Trolley Tour
September 14th , 10:00am – 12:00pm
Among Green-Wood’s 580,000 permanent residents are some of the most celebrated personalities of the American stage and silver screen. On this trolley tour we’ll step back in time and encounter the actors, producers, composers, and directors that left their mark on entertainment history.
Discover William Niblo, whose theater in SoHo staged the first American musical The Black Crook (about an evil magician with scoliosis) produced in 1866 by William Wheatley; actor Kate Claxton who wrote a harrowing first-person account of the fire at the Brooklyn Theater in 1876 that killed 284 people, and silent movie star Florence “Fearless Flo” LaBadie who performed many of her own stunts.
Price: $30, and $25 for members
You’ll also visit the graves of modern Broadway legends Leonard Bernstein and Fred Ebb on this show-stopping tour.
