Show & Tale: Artists, Inspiration, and Tools
February 10, 2022 , 6:00pm – 7:30pm
Show & Tale is back! It’s like Antiques Roadshow but with storytelling, or a Death Cafe turned Pinterest board. Everyone is welcome to join in—just bring an object of your choosing and share your story about loss. No judges, no prizes, no pressure. And no need to practice!
At this special Show & Tale, we’re focusing on the items, people, and stories that have inspired our creativity. Whether from a century ago or just yesterday, objects given to us by those we have lost can encourage our artistic expression. Did your loved one pass down a tool of their trade, a book of drawings, or artwork that hung on their wall? Is there a card or letter you take out to read when you’re feeling down? Or does a present-day object remind you of someone who has inspired you? Bring a piece of your personal history and share how it’s influenced your story.
Some ideas to inspire you: Photographs, letters, cameras, jewelry, paintbrushes, woodworking tools, aprons, books, paintings or prints … any objects that connect you to art!
*Just want to come and listen? Awesome. Observers are always welcome.
Free. Registration required. A Zoom link will be in your confirmation email upon registration. Please consider a suggested donation of $10 to The Green-Wood Historic Fund so that we can continue to offer free and low-cost programs throughout the year.
