Musical Meditation on Grief
October 23, 2021 , 4:00pm – 5:00pm
THE LONG STORY
This past year and a half has been a time of profound and terrible loss. As our world and our city continues to process this collective trauma, Death of Classical thought it might be helpful to partner with The Green-Wood Cemetery and Beginner’s Ear, to put together a live music meditation on grief that will be free for all to attend.
Taking place on the same high hill of the Cemetery where we’ll host our performance of Fauré’s Requiem, the hour-long event will begin with a guided meditation on mourning, led by Beginner’s Ear founder Corinna da Fonseca-Wollheim, followed by a musical performance that will emerge from the silence, including music from the Fauré Requiem and more.
THE SHORT STORY
Come join us in the Cemetery for a powerful, poignant reflection on grief, and the beautiful preciousness of life.
Free. This event is completely free to the public, no registration or RSVP is required—just show up at 4pm on Saturday! Please feel free to bring blankets or cushions for your own comfort while sitting on the grass.
