While the contributions of women in World War I are often overlooked, they played pivotal roles on the front lines of communication. Join us to honor one of these remarkable women—Grace Banker (1892-1960), chief operator of the United States Army Signal Corps during the war. Grace commanded the “Hello Girls,” a group of bilingual women who decoded messages, operated switchboards, and translated vital communications for the American and French forces in battle. Stationed within artillery range, they were indispensable to the success of the Allied war effort.

Price: Free. No registration required.

This event is free and open to the public. The walk to the grave is approximately half a mile.
