A Night at Niblo’s Garden
September 12, 2020 , 7:00pm – 9:00pm
This popular event is back in 2020! Enjoy a Victorian extravaganza put on by our good friends at Bindlestiff Family Cirkus. Begin the evening with a picnic (bring your own) around beautiful Crescent Water before being dazzled by nineteenth-century showmanship: fire eaters, musicians, contortionists, performers on floats, and much more—all under the starry summer sky. The evening celebrates Green-Wood permanent resident William Niblo, whose pleasure garden (built in 1834) in New York City was one of the largest and most elaborate theaters of its time. Author Benjamin Feldman reprises his role as Mr. Niblo himself on this special evening.
How can A Night at Niblo’s Garden get any better? With the special VIP experience of course! Arrive an hour before the main show (at 6pm) to enjoy:
- Exclusive private performances by Bindlestiff Cirkus
- A tour of William Niblo’s famed mausoleum by Mr. Niblo (as played by Ben Feldman)
- Complimentary refreshments throughout the entire evening
- Access to prime seating before the general public arrives!
Picnics are welcome, but no coolers or outside alcohol are permitted. Water, wine, and beer will be available for purchase.
