The Green-Wood Historic Fund was honored on June 23 to receive a Municipal Arts Society award for its collaboration with Dance Theatre Etc. on “Angels and Accordions,” the site-specific music and dance performance that has been staged gloriously across the cemetery grounds for the last six years as a part of openhousenewyork. Presenter Alison Tocci, president of Time Out New York, described “Angels and Accordions” as one of the great New York City events.
President Richard J. Moylan accepted the award on behalf of Green-Wood. Martha Bowers, founder, choreographer, and executive director of DTE, received the award for that organization. This award was all the more exciting because of the others who were honored, including Governors Island and the Brooklyn Bridge Park. Good company!
Because a picture is worth a thousand words, here are a few images from last year’s show:
Congrats Green-Wood. Well deserved…you too Jeff!
