D.M. Bennett: The Truth Seeker

After the book signing in the Historic Chapel at Green-Wood at 1:00pm, join Jeff Richman, Green-Wood Cemetery historian, for a trolley tour featuring Bennett’s elaborate monument (to “The Defender of Liberty and Its Martyr”), paid for by his followers, and Green-Wood’s other most fascinating inscribed monuments: a gravestone with a Victorian poem to a pug dog (“Only a dog, do you say, sir critic . . .”), a gravestone attacking “intoxicating liquour and tobacco,” and much more.

The trolley tour is $20 / $10 for Historic Fund members. Reservations are recommended. Space is limited. Reserve your ticket online today or call 718.768.7300.
